Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Gold coins falling from her hands show that she brings wealth to her devotees. Two elephants are often shown standing next to her – symbolizing spiritual prosperity. She is always portrayed sitting on a lotus which symbolizes creation of universe and continuity of organic life from Vishnu?s navel.
