Enid Blyton is one of the best-loved children?s authors of all time. The language she used was simple and yet it brought out the essence of all that she wanted to convey to impressionable minds. Blyton started her vocation as a teacher in 1918, but her writing career received a boost in 1921 when she won a writing competition and her works began to be published in children?s magazines. On the whole, Blyton has authored more than 700 books, and sold over 400 million books.
